About mr. landon
Currently, I am an instructional technology specialist on the Educational Technology Team in the Chandler Unified School District in Chandler, Arizona.
I began my teaching career after graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1996. I have enjoyed teaching music, band, and choir in all grades (Pre-K through 12), in Washington State, Indiana, and Arizona since 1996. Starting in the 2017-2018 school year, I chose to shift my focus from music to technology and I am honored to join the Auxier community as their technology specialist. I have studied at Indiana University / Purdue University - Indianapolis, Northern Arizona University, and Walden University in the areas of Computer Science, Computer Programming, Educational Technology, Music Technology, and Instructional Technology and Design.
My passions include exploring innovative strategies to improve my teaching and the overall environment at my district and share those ideas and strategies with my team and colleagues. My goals are not only centered around the technical concepts and skills (of course that is important!), but also to learn to respect the importance digital citizenship and practice this in our everyday lives. My role is more of a facilitator than as a coach or teacher, to guide colleagues, teachers, students, and families as we explore new and innovative tools and become strong digital citizens together.
I live in Chandler with my wife (a very talented music teacher at Patterson Elementary School), son, and twin daughters. I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with my family!
